Where has the time gone?

Summer of 2017 and Sound Homes was firing on all cylinders - We were staging for multiple clients plus our own flips, flipping and renovating for some lovely (growing) families around Connecticut...then boom,,,the fall of 2017 and Amy lost her focus and was sucked into a world unlike any other.

Paul, thankfully held down the fort and kept the wheels on the bus (too many mixed metaphors I realize) and kept Sound Homes looking after clients and a few projects.  He managed to perform a successful flip of Dakota Lane in Orononque Village with great success.

Now...I"M BAAACKK...

I found us a great Madison beach cottage to renovate which begins soon, and we have an antique home in Stony Creek section of Branford we can't wait to share with you as we transform for our amazing client!

This is a perfect example of where hard work and planning pays off.  I met with our client 2 weeks prior to the house going on the market, gave him a list of items to do to get the house ready for sale.  We spent a few days prior to listing staging, cleaning (window washing), decluttering, and having professional photos taken of this home.

The pictures speak for themselves..teamwork paid off..

The Open House was mobbed - we had 8 offers and the house sold for ABOVE Asking and closed 3 weeks later!

"Sound Homes helped us with a complete kitchen renovation, down to the studs. They provided a full spectrum of services, helping with the kitchen design, installation, subcontractor management, lighting plan, etc, all in a friendly time efficient manner. They were very responsive to questions, scheduling changes, and design changes and made the process as stress free as possible.

We brought them a blank slate and they gave us a beautiful kitchen, all while working within our budget."

Home Remodeling Testimonial - Woodbridge 203k remodel

"Let me begin by saying that Sound Homes exceeded our expectations in every way possible.

Teaming up with Amy and Paul was one of the single greatest decisions my husband and I could have made—they gave us our dream home!

When my husband and I decided it was time to start looking for a home, we quickly found that there weren’t many homes in the areas we wanted to live that had the amenities we were hoping for or reflected our style. We decided that purchasing a house that required some upfront work was our best option.

Following our initial meeting with Amy and Paul we realized how lucky we had gotten in finding the Sound Homes team.  We visited a couple of the properties they had recently renovated and they extensively reviewed the work they done with us.

They appeared to be extremely committed to quality craftsmanship (and following our experience with them, I can honestly say that they definitely are!) and truly love what they do.

We formally teamed up with them and Amy began to tirelessly search for homes that matched our criteria (within a tight budget) that could be transformed through a renovation. Having Paul on hand to attend each of the showings was invaluable: he scoured each of the homes for potential costly problems that would go unseen by the untrained eye. They explained the renovations that would be possible in each of the homes, highlighting the increased value these changes would bring. If the work wouldn’t add value they advised against it—they always had our best interest in mind.

Once we found a home, Amy, Paul, and our mortgage broker, Joanne, worked around the clock to assemble the vast amounts of paperwork required for a Homestyle Renovation mortgage—all throughout the holiday season! What I am sure was a stressful process for them was never felt on our end. They handled every curveball that was thrown their way immediately and professionally, and we met what seemed to be an impossible deadline.

We put together an extensive list of work we wanted done around the house, and Amy and Paul always had great suggestions for things we would have never thought of on our own. Amy has a great design aesthetic and she would bring us several options for tile, cabinets, fixtures, etc., always keeping the budget in mind. We were in constant contact with both Amy and Paul, and we would get daily updates about the project (including pictures!) as the work was being done. The constant flow of information helped keep my husband and me at ease during a project which oftentimes becomes overwhelming.

Paul’s dedication is truly unparalleled. He would be the first to arrive at the jobsite and the last to leave, and would often be there when my husband and I would stop over after work. After a long day’s work, Paul would never hesitate to provide my husband and me with an update. He would go over everything with us so we understood the work that had been completed and what would be up next. And the work he does is incredible—as illustrated by the photos—I still cannot believe how he managed to transform the house in such a short amount of time!

In all honesty, the hardest part about the renovation process was the waiting because the house was so beautiful that we couldn’t wait to move in!

We cannot say enough good things about these remarkable people. They’re incredibly dedicated to their work and their clients, and they do beautiful, quality work. It was an absolute pleasure working with them and we can’t wait until our next project so we can work with them again!"

Sound Homes Happy Buyer

We were living in New Orleans and needed to move back to Connecticut. I was referred to Amy through a mortgage broker. Amy goes "the extra mile" and gives 101%. Understand that we communicated online and by phone. We found houses online here at Zillow. If there were questions about certain homes we saw I  would contact her to "field" our questions to the seller's agents.....But Amy went out and previewed all these homes in person sending video and pictures back to me with her evaluation of these properties! We finally found the house that "worked" and as it happened were able to lease( my New Orleans house hadn't sold) There were some problems with the house and although my Attorney told me we didn't have a leg to stand on Amy got it all taken care of by the seller!

When we arrived at our new home there was a delicious dinner Amy had prepared for us waiting in the fridge! This young lady is a marvel! I can't say enough about her. A refreshing change from some of the realtors I've dealt with in the past!"

Sound Homes Real Estate Customer

"I first met Amy when I was looking at houses for sale on the Internet. The first house that really caught my attention was a home on Goldfinch Rd in Durham that Amy and her business partner Paul had recently refurbished. The home was beautiful; the work on the home was professional, up-to-date with the latest trends, and unique.

At the time I was not even sure I could even qualify to buy a home, so when I talked with Amy she suggested talking to Joanne who is a mortgage broker that she works with.

When we went into each house, Amy was very knowledgeable and always had a vision for each home we went in to. She would point out the positive things about each one, the things that I would not have picked up on. She also pointed out things that I would need to consider if I bought each home. I was quite impressed with her ability to walk into a home and size it up with pros, cons and things that could improve each one.

At that point I started to work more with Joanne. During this process Joanne was very supportive and never faltered in her goal of getting my loan approved. I think she was on a mission, especially since I am a Disabled Veteran! However, I believe she is on a mission with every mortgage that she works on.

I ran into a couple of hurdles, but we managed to work together closely and the mortgage was approved. Joanne and Amy were both readily available and I am not sure that if I had chosen another team, if things would have ever worked out. I am so grateful to both of them for all they did to help me realize my dream of owning my own home."

Sound Homes Staging with Waterside Real Estate

12/7/2016

"Waterside Real Estate Development, Inc., recently had the wonderful experience of working with the staging division of Sounds Homes.

We were about to put a recently renovated raised ranch on the market and at the last minute decided we should stage it.  Amy Stefanowski, the owner of the company, was incredibly flexible to work with us on short notice and to keep within our budget.  We found her ideas very creative and our house was staged within a few days.  The best part was that the house sold almost immediately and for more than our asking price.  This was a pleasant surprise since there was a house almost exactly like ours only one street away.  It was on for less and is still on the market.

The staging was definitely a factor in our house selling so quickly.
Even though we sold the house so fast we decided to go ahead with our scheduled open house in an attempt to locate future buyers.  During the open house we received numerous compliments on the staging from realtors and potential buyers.  Amy’s business cards flew off the counter.

One of our better business decisions was to work with Amy on our staging.  She has wonderful design sense and the knowledge to know what current buyers are looking for."
